Mountaintops of the Giants

Defeating the Black Blade Kindred with Millicent's aid.
These Kindred serve Gurranq, yet here one is far from his sanctuary. Why does he want to block our way?

The Grand Lift of Rold, for the final ascension.

I could almost reach out and strike the Erdtree's canopy from this high.

The stars are clear this high up, no longer overshadowed by the Erdtree. Understandable why the ancient astronomers, ancestors of the Carian sorcerers, lived here.

By a ledge, I found the clothes of Bloody Finger Hunter Yura. Yet, he died far away in Altus. I suspect the swordsman was also revived by the Flame of Frenzy, as an extra measure to convince me; then discarded when I chose correct.

These do not seem trees... Spears? Only giants could wield them, being too big for trolls and unlike the golems' stone weapons.

Dashing through the snow.

Borealis, the Freezing Fog of the mountains. No match for mother's blade and frenzied flame.

The Erdtree's seeds reached even here. I saw a castle on the way, but was uninterested. My revenge is all that matters.

There, closer now, is the Forge of the Giants. It must be capable of great flames. Shame that Melina left before I will complete our goal.

The Fire Monks. Set to stand guard over the Mountains, to imprison who I suspect lays beyond. But these monks now worship Giants' flame.
Pathetic. The Giants' flame could not save them from the Erdtree's hordes; it is unworthy of me.

Trolls and their vanquished ancestors, the giants. Once, these titans fought against the encroaching Golden armies of the Erdtree, against Marika and Godfrey. Now only their enslaved descendants remain.

A living fire giant, guard of the forge! Alone and imprisoned, but still putting up a fight.
Radagon, second Elden Lord, was rumored to have red hair like the giants. Perhaps even their distant kin.

Fiery! Makes one forget that we are at the coldest peak of the Lands Between.

In pain and desperate, the last giant ripped off his leg! It began burning, like a beacon.

Or, an offering. To the Fell God of the giants, who granted their flame.

Even a god can burn.

The fire giants are no more.

The Forge of the Giants, over the Lands Between. Marika feared the giants would burn the Erdtree. Finally, their craftsmanship can be put to use.

But first, a worthy fire needs kindling.

Oh, may chaos take the world.

May Chaos Take THE WORLD!
Farum Azula

When I awoke again, I arrived at Crumbling Farum Azula. Though the Erdtree smolders, it resists yet.
After Black Blade Maliketh sealed the Rune of Death in his sword, Marika succeeded in excising death from existence. So the illusory Erdtree refuses mortality.
I can change that.

I can change that.

The Beastmen, dragon worshippers and wielders of stone weapons.
An ancient species, like the dragons.
An ancient species, like the dragons.

An ancient dragon! They and their lesser descendants abound here. Once, a dragon ruled as Elden Lord before Godfrey. Drakes belong to an age long past.
This entire crumbling mausoleum does. Yet, some power holds it aloft...

Beastmen burial, to accompany their draconic masters even to death.

Frenzy guide me, Frenzy protect me, Frenzy burn me.

If not for the fact they bleed, I would assume the ancient dragons living statues, rather than beasts.

Another moment to rest.

The last building. I never discovered what caused Farum Azula's tornado, but that hardly matters now. The Rune of Death shall be unleashed.

Gurranq the Beast Clergyman, here in Farum Azula's most sacred ground.
Despite his beasthood, he does not worship the dragons anymore. I know who he is.

His disguise burns away in the flames of the Rune of Death.

Maliketh the Black Blade, shadow and servant of Marika. Wielder of death and slayer of the Gloam-Eyed Queen and her apostles.
He will never let the Rune be stolen from him again; not that I will give him that choice.
He will never let the Rune be stolen from him again; not that I will give him that choice.

Maliketh, born to the primordial age of beasts and dragons, later servant under the Golden Order. So he ends.

The Rune of Death, plucked from the Elden Ring.

Death burns bright again.

I unleashed death on the Lands Between. The Erdtree finally, truly burns again.

I awake.

Leyndell, the Ashen Capital. The path to the Elden Ring should be clear...
Though, I have some lingering regrets. This world will burn in frenzy, but first I have business to conclude. Mohg and Millicent.
